What's wedge wire screen?

Wedge Wire Screen, also named as Johnson Screen, is one of the most important product of YMX Filters. We have been involved in manufacturing the wedge wire screen for more than 10 years.
The wedge wire is a welded steel structure. It's fabricated by the profile wires, usually V-shaped, and sometimes other shapes, that are resistant welded onto the support rods/profiles. The distance between the profile wires are called the slot size. The slot sizes are controlled very accurately, so it result a very steady and reliable filter media.
The wedge wire screen, or we can call them the Johnson screen, is mainly used as filtration or separation materials. It's an ideal filter media. The triangle shaped wires/profiles between the slots will never cause a clog when solids pass though. When the solids pass through, the contact points are small and the tips of the slots are widened, so that the solids are less likely to clog, and even when they the do clog, there will be a strong backside washing effect, resulting in excellent maintainability.
The structure of the wedge wire screen allows thicker profiles to form a thinner or smaller slot size. That means, this structure will be far strong and rigid compared to the woven or perforated filter screens. This make it very durable. What's more, the screen surface is smooth, the degree of wear is constant. And the stainless steel materials are very durable and steady, thus the wedge wire screen are very durable. They can be used almost indefinitely without replacement, reducing running costs. In addition, we are also able to produce Wedge Wire Screens using special materials such as titanium or duplex stainless steel.
